Where Do You Start The Story?

Start the story where the story starts. This is SO hard to learn. I naturally want to set people up. Make them comfortable in my world. Show them how my hero got to the point where he is standing in Times Square wearing only a towel and one red high heel. And his real concern is why he only has one shoe?
